about

-story time-
the human animal had enrolled at community college but dropped out before semester ended
he's recently broken up with his new girlfriend and is missing his old one
he decides to do what he does best and goes to a party
while he's there he see's a bottle of whiskey being passed around.
its left unattended for a moment and he tucks it under his coat and leaves.
he drinks the remainder of the bottle by himself and blacks out.
he wakes up in the county jail the next morning.

lyrics

charles bukowski's got nothing on me
if water were whiskey i'd drink up the sea
and like vincent vangogh if his ear were his heart
i had a true love but i tore it apart
and i dropped out of college so let's celebrate
we'll find us a party, we'll crash through the gate
tonight i will drink till i've drowned my regret
what i don't remember, you won't forget

so roll out the barrel
strike up a radio carol
as long as there's grain in the bottle my friend
we'll never be lonely again, oh no
we'll never be lonely again

but that's when i saw her across from the room
she was sitting on an empty beer keg
a bottom shelf beauty with plastic capped lips
wearing nothing but a brown paper bag

she was the life of the party, she floated around
giving out kisses while held upside down
when no one was looking i stole her away
i pulled down her dress and she told me her name
then we ran out the back door and into the night
we rolled in the snow, we slipped on the ice
but i wasn't cold cause she numbed me inside
holding me close with her lips pressed to mine

roll out the barrel
strike up a radio carol
as long as there's grain in the bottle my friend
we'll never be lonely again, oh no
we'll never be lonely again

but i woke up next morning to fluorescent lights
and four concrete walls painted white
oh my darling, my only,
now where could you be?
for i
i'm still
empty
