-story time-
more time has passed
the human animal is growing tired of the cycle of trading his time and labor for money all so that he can support his habit of drinking enough to numb his anxiety about having to go back to work the next day.
he considers briefly about turning to religion and is enticed furthermore by the the prospect of a new potential love interest, however he recognizes that he does not currently meet her standards and is afraid that he could never live up to her expectations, and so he resigns himself to his own private fantasies as he gets high and fades out, harkening back to fonder memories when he was in a rock'n roll band and his girlfriend took pictures of him and posted them on myspace....
lyrics
well goodbye late night
one night standers
i found me a good christian girl
shes got blonde hair, blue eyes,
and steepled standards
and i think i could settle down with her
but mary, oh mary,
your son don't shine on me
i've beeen hiding out in the shade
but maybe, just maybe
i'll let your candle lead
if your light is gonna get me laid
so let this sinner have a saint
put some thinner in her paint
and strip away the white wash
sealed upon her gate
i'll let her shoot me straight
i'll stop staying out so late
but she don't wanna mess around
and i don't wanna wait
but mary, oh mary,
your son don't shine on me
i followed zacheus up a tree
your saints and your clergy
came lecturing me
saying boy let our poor sister be
we've seen through your wiles
and we've seen through your lies
you no good serpent on the sly
that girl knows better
than to talk to snakes
you'd be wasting your time if you tried
oh but you see i'm a desperate guy
so let this sinner have a saint
put some thinner in her paint
and strip away the white wash
sealed upon her gate
i'll let her shoot me straight
i'll stop staying out so late
but she don't wanna mess around
and i don't wanna wait
