-story time-
the human animal and his band of amateur super stars closes out their set with a real banger that gets all the people bobbing their heads. prior to the show, the human animal took some edibles that are finally kicking in and he begins to play his guitar in ways he has never played before. it sounds really good in his head. the next morning when he asks his girlfriend if she got any footage of the last song, she lies and said her camera died.
lyrics
well i was at the bottom of a butt of a joke
i tried to pick myself up but my bootstraps broke
i mean come on, it's like i can't catch a break
so i called up to the top and asked em through me a rope
they tossed me down a noose and told me fucking choke
i mean come on, it's more than i can take
and they say what nerve, you get what you deserve
they say what nerve, you get what you deserve
and if you try to ask for more from the ones you serve
they say now get back to the bottom boy, don't be so absurd
well i didn't get much from my public education
but i sure as hell learned to not trust administrations
my elders, they don't respect the youth
yeah they fill you with their lines and their rules and limitations
and then they wonder why i'm so full of frustrations
i mean come on, it's like they haven't a clue
and they say what nerve, you get what you deserve
they say what nerve, you get what you deserve
and if you try to ask for more from the ones you serve
they say now get back to the bottom boy, don't be so absurd
just because you got money doesn't mean you got class
i'd be minding my shit if folks were kissing my ass
i mean come on, how bout some dignity
yeah you can have your little laugh and you can call me white trash
but at least i ain't my daddy's little trust fund brat
i mean come on, i thought nothing was free
and they say what nerve, you get what you deserve
they say what nerve, you get what you deserve
and if you try to ask for more from the ones you serve
they say now get back to the bottom boy, don't be so absurd
